Alan Shearer has suggested in The Sun that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli will be considering his future at the club.

The Newcastle United legend made the suggestion following Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Premier League rivals Manchester United at the Wembley Stadium in London in the semi-finals of the FA Cup this past weekend.

The loss, in which England international midfielder Alli scored, means that Spurs will endure yet another season without winning a major trophy.

Newcastle legend Shearer believes that the 22-year-old midfielder, who earns £50,000 per week as salary according to The Daily Star, will be considering his future at Tottenham.

Shearer wrote in The Sun: “And while Tottenham is Kane’s club how long can he resist temptation from elsewhere to turn his ability in front of goal into medals? Because it is not happening at Spurs anytime soon.

“Dele Alli, who scored an excellent opener, will undoubtedly be considering his options too.”

Should Tottenham Hotspur fans worry?

Alli is one of the best young midfielders in Europe and is a key figure in the current Tottenham team, and one should not be surprised if the North London club do get offers for him in the summer transfer window.

However, it is hard to see Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy selling the youngster, given his importance to Mauricio Pochettino’s team and the fact the the club will move into a brand new stadium next season.
