Alan Shearer has praised Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford for his performance against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday evening, as quoted on PremierLeague.com.
The Newcastle United legend has included Rashford in his Premier League Team of the Week for his performance against Liverpool.
The £200,000-a-week (Spotrac) England international forward scored in the 53rd minute to help Erik ten Hag’s side to a 2-1 win.
BBC and Premier League pundit Shearer believes that Rashford’s pace was a problem for Liverpool throughout the evening.

Shearer wrote on PremierLeague.com about Rashford: “Threatened Liverpool all night with his pace and his decisive goal got Man Utd’s season off and running.”

Unable to cope
In our view, Liverpool could not cope with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s intelligent runs and pace.
Liverpool do have a good defensive unit, but at Old Trafford last night, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez were not at their best.
The Reds allowed the 24-year-old Rashford and Jadon Sancho space to run and time on the ball.
Rashford had one of his best games in months, as he led the line well and was a problem for the Liverpool back-line through his time on the pitch.
The Englishman was very mobile, drifted out wide, was menacing down the middle, and almost scored a second goal.
