Alan Shearer was gushing over Liverpool prodigy Harvey Elliott after his wonderful performance against Wolves in the FA Cup 3rd Round replay.
The Englishman, who operated in his natural right-wing position scored the winner on the night with a thumping strike from long range, in what was an otherwise excellent showing.
Much like any and everyone watching, Shearer was in awe of how well Elliott performed for Liverpool against Wolves.
The numbers certainly suggest that the £46,000-a-week attacker was sublime against Julen Lopetegui’s side.
Scoring a goal, while creating 2 chances, completing 80% of his 35 passes, making 2 clearances, winning both his ground duels and putting in 1 tackle as well (via LFC Stats), the ex-Fulham starlet was impeccable on the night.
Elliott glided out wide, beating players for fun, taking responsibility on the ball and showcasing his supreme technical ability.
While that has also been evident for the Reds from the teenager in the middle of the park, he looks like a completely different animal as a winger.
So much so that one of the Premier League’s greatest ever players in Alan Shearer seems to be immensely impressed by how terrific Harvey Elliott was for Liverpool against Wolves.
The high-profile pundit has now commented on the 19-year-old’s stunning display.
