Alan Shearer does not like Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino’s habit of taking Harry Kane off when on a hat-trick.
Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur celebrates scoring his side’s third goal during the Premier League match against Huddersfield Town.
Harry Kane netted his 11th club goal in just six matches in September as Tottenham Hotspur beat Huddersfield Town 4-0 in the Premier League.
Kane’s bizarre record of having never scored in August is now a distant memory as the striker put the Terriers to the sword with a brace at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Yet Alan Shearer believes the 24-year-old should be disappointed with his manager Mauricio Pochettino after being subbed off in the 87th minute.

“We’ve got issue. When he’s been on a hat-trick, three times this season, the manager has decided to take him off,” Shearer said on Match Of The Day.
“We’re all selfish as strikers. Goals come around in the last 10 minutes. When you look at [Romelu] Lukaku, 13 of his last 24 goals have come after 80 minutes.
“I’d be banging on his [Pochettino’s] door asking ‘why’?”

Kane was also taken off on 85 minutes during the 3-0 win at Everton and the 89th minute when Spurs beat West Ham United 3-2, with the England international on a hat-trick on both occasions.
The forward has been in brilliant scoring form for Tottenham again this season and now has 110 goals in 174 appearances for the North London side in all competitions.
Kane has also netted five times in just two Champions League outings in 2017/18, scoring twice in the 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund – when he was also taken off in the final ten minutes – and a hat-trick (the ninth of his career) during the 3-0 drubbing of APOEL Nicosia.
