Alan Shearer has claimed that Naby Keita produced his ‘best display’ in a Liverpool shirt at Old Trafford on Sunday, as he told the Premier League’s official website.
The former striker claimed that it was pure ‘dominance’ from Keita and it’s now looking like a ‘breakthrough’ season for him at Liverpool.
To the surprise of many, the midfielder, 26, was bursting through Man United’s midfield after five minutes to open the scoring, after Mo Salah fed him through.
But, then again, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Keita is finding the back of the net, because yesterday was one of his simpler goals of the campaign and not a volley from outside of the box.
And whilst Mo Salah stole the show with his stunning hat-trick during the 5-0 win, it was Keita who also shone alongside the Egyptian King, according to Shearer.
“Keita’s best display in a Liverpool shirt,” said Shearer. “With a goal, an assist and dominance against Man United’s midfield.
“It’s looking like a breakthrough season for him.”

With Gini Wijnaldum out of the door, Keita is starting to step up for the Reds, and it’s much-needed.
It has been three years since the Merseyside giants paid big bucks to RB Leipzig to purchase the expert ball-carrier, but it just hasn’t worked out for him.
Constant injuries and visits to the treatment room have played their part, but now, he is showing that there is still a lot of life left in his footballing tank.
There is that spot, alongside Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, for someone to take, with Thiago, the injured Harvey Elliott, Keita, James Milner and Curtis Jones, all battling it out.
