Newcastle United beat Burnley 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Newcastle United picked up another win on Tuesday night as they beat Burnley 2-0 at St James’ Park.
After beating Huddersfield Town 2-0 at home on Saturday, Newcastle were looking for another impressive win, but visitors Burnley were in superb form as they headed to Tyneside.
They still weren’t enough for a resurgent Newcastle though, with Swiss defender Fabian Schar unleashing a stunning opener from long range.
Promising midfielder Sean Longstaff added a second before the break, and Newcastle saw out the second half expertly to claim a second straight clean sheet.
The Magpies have a real feel-good factor right now, and they have moved up to 13th place in the Premier League table, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
Club legend Alan Shearer took to Twitter after the game to hail another well-deserved victory, praising the Magpies for two ‘huge’ wins.

The official Premier League account also tweeted a video of Shearer watching the game live, which featured his celebration after Schar’s goal.
Schar’s long-range thunderbolt saw Shearer jump out of his seat, just like many Newcastle fans around the world as the former striker enjoyed such a remarkable striker.
