Alan Shearer has raved about Liverpool wonderkid Stefan Bajcetic, who put in a splendid performance against Wolves in the FA Cup.

Coming in for Fabinho right after Jurgen Klopp’s side were dismantled 3-0 by Brighton, the pressure was on the 18-year-old to look right at home against Julen Lopetegui’s side.

It’s safe to say Bajcetic did that and much more in a Liverpool shirt against Wolves, which led to Alan Shearer giving him his props.

Jamie Carragher also went on to credit the teenager, describing his performance as ‘outstanding’ on the night.

Looking at the 18-year-old’s stats from the game as well, he made 5 recoveries, completed 2 dribbles, made 2 interceptions, made 2 passes in the final third and was dribbled past 0 times amongst several other brilliant numbers, as per Stat ATM.

What is extremely impressive about the Spaniard is how well-rounded he looks already at such a young age.

As a defensive midfielder, one would expect Stefan Bajcetic to do the basics of winning duels and mopping up any signs of danger.

And not only does the Reds prodigy do that, but he ticks several boxes in terms of his line-breaking ability, composure in tight situations, ability to dictate the tempo of the game and his decision-making.

Much like Alan Shearer, every observer was in awe of just how accomplished Stefan Bajcetic looked for Liverpool against Wolves.

Especially during a period where there is little to no positivity around the club.

On BBC Sport, Alan Shearer was extremely complimentary of Stefan Bajcetic, who shone for Liverpool against Wolves in the FA Cup.

“It was a very mature performance from Stefan Bajcetic in there. It had a little bit of everything, had to put his foot in at times, read the game very well, protected the back 4 very well and on the occasion that Liverpool did attack, a lot of it was his passing.”

“He can be proud of his performance”, the pundit said.

All one can do is nod their heads in agreement with Alan Shearer, as Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic was a class apart against Wolves.
