Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have appointed Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as the Gers’ manager.

Rangers have announced on their official Twitter page that Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is the Ibrox club’s new manager.
The former Liverpool midfielder will take charge of the Rangers first team from the start of June.
This will be Gerrard’s first job as manager of the first team at any club, with the former England international having been in charge of the Liverpool Under-18 side since the summer of 2017.
The Gers have failed to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this season and could even fail to finish second.
Gerrard will have his work cut out at Rangers, with the Ibrox fans hugely demanding and wanting to regain their old glory.
It will be interesting to see how Rangers do next season, and one suspects that whether they are successful or not will depend on the quality of players they sign in the summer transfer window.

A number of well-known footballing figures have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Gerrard being appointed as the Rangers manager, including former Gers star Graham Roberts, Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer and former Celtic striker Chris Sutton.
Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez, who managed Gerrard at Liverpool, has said that it is not a risk for Rangers to hand the managerial role to Gerrard.
Benitez told Sky Sports: “I don’t think it’s a risk. He’s a name and he knows about football and I’m sure the staff he’s going to bring with him will have experience so I think he will be fine.
“Always when you have someone with this passion for football with people with more experience around them they can do well.”
