Celtic’s long-running search for a replacement for Neil Lennon took a farcical twist when Eddie Howe walked away from talks with the Parkhead side – and former Aberdeen star Shay Logan has poked fun at the news with a Tweet showing him mocked up as the new Celtic boss.

After months of waiting for Howe to take up the post, Celtic are now in talks with another candidate, reported to be Australian Ange Postegoclou, and Logan has poured salt in the wounds by claiming it a job “no one else wanted.”

As well as the caption saying “I live in their heads, I may as well be boss” Logan tweeted “Thought I’d make my first role in management a small one and build it up from there. I can’t say I’m happy for the role but hey a jobs a job no one else wanted it.”

The former Aberdeen and Hearts defender has some history with the Celtic fans after accusing Parkhead defender Alexander Tonev of directing racist language towards him during a match in 2014.

Tonev would be banned by the Scottish FA for seven games as a result with Logan regularly heckled by Celtic fans when he’s appeared against them since.

The defender is out of contract this summer at Pittodrie and spent the final months of the season on loan at Hearts as they secured promotion to the Premiership.

While it’s safe to say Logan won’t be replacing Lennon in the Parkhead dugout, his tweet is unlikely to go down well with Celtic fans.
