Yacouba Sylla left Aston Villa in 2015.

Yacouba Sylla recently admitted to The Birmingham Mail that he regrets leaving Aston Villa.
Sylla joined Villa from Clermont in 2013 when Paul Lambert was in charge, but he left on a permanent basis in 2015 following a loan spell at Kayseri Erciyesspor.
The Mali international midfielder, who is currently on loan at Montpellier from Rennes, admitted that he should not have left Villa.
“The second season at Aston Villa, I only made a dozen games,” Sylla told The Birmingham Mail.
“I saw players of my age evolving in Ligue 1 and I was panicking, telling myself that I was going to be slowed in my progression, because I did not play much. I was mistaken.
“This is one of the greatest regrets of my career, of being so impatient and listening to the bad people.
“I was badly advised by people who sold me a project to relaunch me, telling me that I was going to be visible and recognized on the side of Kayserispor.”
Former Villa defender Shaun Teale has responded strongly to Sylla’s comments on social networking site Twitter, claiming that the 26-year-old midfielder should never have been signed in the first place.
Villa are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
Steve Bruce’s side are 11th in the league table at the moment with 58 points from 41 matches, 11 points behind sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.
The Villans are not going finish the season in the top six of the Championship this season, but they will be aiming to claim a spot in the playoff in 2017-18.
