Celtic’s James Forrest and Aston Villa’s John McGinn started Scotland’s defeat to Russia on Friday night.

Shaun Maloney heaped praise on the ‘exceptionally consistent’ Celtic ace James Forrest, whilst he also credited Aston Villa’s, John McGinn ahead of Scotland’s Euro 2020 crunch clash against Belgium on Monday.
The Belgium coach also claimed that Celtic’s Ryan Christie has taken his game to ‘another level’ during these past six months, as the trio will be hoping to feature for the Scots tonight.
Both Forrest and McGinn started for Scotland on Friday night, as the Villa man’s opening goal for his country wasn’t enough to see off Russia.
Now they face a stern test against one of the best teams in world football, as ex-Celtic and Villa winger Maloney shared his thoughts on a number of key players for Scotland.
“But it has been nice to see James (Forrest) get some recognition for what he has achieved,” said Maloney, as quoted by Football Scotland. “He has been excellent for both club and country and has been exceptionally consistent, too.”
“But it’s not all about James [Forrest]. Ryan Christie has gone on to another level over the last six months. A few weeks back I took in an Aston Villa game and thought that John McGinn really shone,”

Both Forrest and McGinn were substituted by manager Steve Clarke in the second half, with Christie coming off the bench on Friday night as the Scots let a one-goal lead slip.
It remains to be seen what team Clarke will pick against the Belgian’s, who will have some of the world’s best players on show on Monday night.
If Scotland are to get anything from the game then they will have to produce one of their best displays and their key players such as Ryan Fraser, Forrest and McGinn will have to deliver.
