Luke Ayling has posted on Instagram on Monday that Brendan Aaronson has made ‘some start’ to life as a Leeds United player.

Forward Sam Greenwood also added in the comments section of Aaronson’s IG post that the player is looking ‘sharp’ after making his Premier League debut on Saturday.

Jesse Marsch’s side came from behind to beat Wolves 2-1, with Aaronson impressing for his team following his summer move from RB Salzburg.

At one stage, the 21-year-old actually thought he was the one to have scored the winning goal in front of a packed-out Elland Road crowd.

But the dubious goals panel decided that the winner was a Ryan Ait-Nouri own goal, instead, but nonetheless, it was a positive start for the player.

Now, it’s about adding consistency to his game and trying to make Leeds compete near the top half of the table this season, with the Whites making the long trip to the south coast to take on Southampton on Saturday.

AARONSON IS THE PLAYER LEEDS HAVE BEEN MISSING

For the past two seasons, Leeds could have done with a player of Aaronson’s touch, ilk, movement and creative ability in their team.

But, with Marcelo Bielsa in the Elland Road dugout, the team were creating chances galore anyway, plus he always liked to play with a smaller squad.

It would have been something to see the American play alongside Kalvin Phillips in the middle of the park because those two would have complemented each other in a brilliant manner.

Nonetheless, it’s a positive start to the new season for Leeds and Marsch, as they face a Southampton side at the weekend that conceded four at Tottenham Hotspur.
