Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Ham United have been linked with Xherdan Shaqiri of Stoke City in the summer transfer window.

Xherdan Shaqiri has been relegated to the Championship with Stoke City, but that has not stopped Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Ham United from (reportedly) showing interest in him.
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham have made an enquiry to Stoke regarding the transfer of Shaqiri, who is reported to have a £12 million relegation release clause in his contract.
The report has also credited Everton, West Ham United and Crystal Palace with interest in the 26-year-old, who earns £65,000 per week as salary according to Spotrac.com, but the Switzerland international winger’s comments about his future suggest that Tottenham could have the advantage.

Shaqiri told The Sun: “It is important for me to find a club where the manager and directors all want me to sign.
“It will be all the better if this club is playing in Europe. It is any footballer’s great aim to play in the Champions League.”

Advantage Tottenham Hotspur?
Shaqiri’s comments make it clear that he would prefer a club in the Champions League, and this does give Spurs an advantage.
Tottenham have finished in the top four of the Premier League for the third season in a row and will feature in the Champions League yet again next season.
Everton and West Ham are ambitious clubs, but the Toffees and the Hammers are unlikely to challenge for the Champions League places anytime soon.
