Liverpool have agreed a fee with Lyon over the transfer of Xherdan Shaqiri, according to The Athletic.
What’s the story?
It has been reported that Lyon will pay Liverpool £9.5 million in transfer fee for Shaqiri.
The report has claimed that the winger has now been given permission to undergo a medical and complete the transfer to the Ligue 1 outfit, which will held soon.
The French club had initially made a bid of £4 million for the 29-year-old Switzerland international winger, according to The Times.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has also claimed on Twitter that a fee has been agreed between the two clubs.
Romano has said that the Premier League and Champions League winner with Liverpool has already agreed personal terms with Lyon.
No big miss for Liverpool
Shaqiri is a squad player at Liverpool, and the winger will not really be missed by the Reds.
Of course, Liverpool need a big squad to win the Premier League and the Champions League this season.
However, Shaqiri is a player Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp can do without.
Just look at his stats.
According to The Athletic, since his move from Stoke City in the summer of 2018, the 29-year-old has played only 63 times for Liverpool.
