Celtic have announced the double signing of Aaron Mooy and Moritz Jenz on Tuesday afternoon – and Shane Duffy has delivered an instant four-word reaction to the arrival of his old Brighton teammate Mooy at Parkhead.
Having already secured deals for Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Benjamin Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei – as well as a permanent move for Daizen Maeda – the Hoops have moved quickly to bring both Mooy and Jenz to the club.
Mooy, 31, is an experienced holding midfielder renowned for his array of passing. With more than 300 senior club appearances in England, Scotland, China and Australia, he is likely to be seen as a replacement for Nir Bitton.

Meanwhile, ex-Fulham academy product Jenz joins Celtic as a possible replacement for Chris Jullien. The colossal 23-year-old has impressed in the top tier of French football, and joins Celtic initially on loan with an option to buy.
Responding to the addition of 53-time Australia international Mooy, Duffy posted a four-word comment on Celtic’s confirmation on Instagram. The duo spent a season together at Brighton, during the 2019-20 campaign.

Ange Postecoglou’s most-important bits of work in the transfer window this summer, were to keep Carter-Vickers and Jota. They are likely to have cost the club considerably more than £10million.
Bernabei solves the left-back issue, but at a cost of £4million. Maeda was a little over £1million. More than £15million has been spent. So, the Hoops have had to add depth by bringing in players elsewhere on the cheap.
Landing an impressive talent in Jenz on loan with a future option to buy is good business – especially if Jullien is sold. Meanwhile, adding the experience of Mooy in midfield is a brilliant move, with Bitton departing.
