Anthony Davis has found himself at the centre of trade speculation as the Mavericks have stumbled out to a 4-11 start to the season.
In response, the Mavericks made a significant change, parting ways with general manager Nico Harrison and starting over.
It’s still unclear what direction Dallas will take next. They could choose to keep the current roster intact or consider rebuilding around rising star Cooper Flagg.
Despite growing trade chatter around Davis, Mavs minority owner Mark Cuban pushed back firmly on the idea of moving him, saying: “We won’t. We want to try to win.”
Dallas Mavericks reportedly open to listening to Anthony Davis trade offers
Despite Mark Cuban’s public stance that Dallas has no intention of trading Davis, ESPN’s Shams Charania has reported the opposite.
According to Charania, the Mavericks are open to listening to trade offers for Anthony Davis and are looking into his market value.

“This franchise is moving away from Nico Harrison’s three-to-four-year championship window and toward trying to find sustained success and sustained growth around Cooper Flagg in youth. And for that health will be the biggest key because not only for the Mavericks to evaluate Anthony Davis over a lengthy period of time, and extended period of time on the court, but for other teams that could have interest in him to see what he looks like when he’s back with this team.”
Which teams could trade for Anthony Davis?
Mavericks fans will remember the last time a superstar was thought to be untouchable, so nothing should be ruled out.
If Dallas keeps sliding down the Western Conference standings, there’s a good chance they look to move Davis and start building for the future.
If Davis does hit the market before the deadline, there won’t be any shortage of interest. The 10-time All-Star would have plenty of suitors.
Teams like the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks could all make a run at Davis.
