Real Madrid fans have reacted on Twitter to Nuno Espirito Santo’s claim that Gareth Bale won’t be returning to Tottenham this summer.
The Wales international, when Jose Mourinho was in charge, spent last season in Tottenham colours.
And whilst Bale’s numbers, during the limited amount of time he spent on the field were impressive, it just didn’t work out for the Welshman.
He didn’t appease the Tottenham fans when they felt he used them as a training camp to prepare for Euro 2020.
And Nuno has now confirmed that Bale won’t be returning to Tottenham for a third time, as he told Football London.
Real Madrid fans have offered a mixed reaction to Nuno’s claims because it now means that they will have to do with him for one more season.
Carlo Ancelotti has returned to the Bernabeu and he was the one who brought the best out of the left-footer during his time in Spain.
But given that Bale has one year remaining on his current Madrid deal, it seems inevitable that he will see that out.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Welshman ends up retiring at the end of the season, but then again, the World Cup in Qatar starts in November 2022, so perhaps that will be his last swansong?
