Spurs’ hunt for a new gaffer has been going on for a long time now, and after two months of scrambling, it’s clear that whoever they get in won’t have been their first-choice.
Remarkably, Fonseca is reportedly their sixth-choice, and after it was reported that the London club are in talks with the former Roma boss, it sounds as though he’s the man closest to being appointed.
As you can imagine, Spurs fans weren’t happy to learn that the man is seemingly at the front of the queue to become their next boss was actually their sixth-choice.
It’s an indictment of the state of the club at the moment that Spurs weren’t able to land any of their five top choices, so they’ve had to turn towards Fonseca, who may also reject the job, meaning that they’d have to turn towards their seventh-choice.
This whole process has been a bit of a mess, and Tottenham fans are seemingly far from happy with this update.
