Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after Daniel Levy decided to hand Nuno Espirito Santo his P45 at Tottenham.
What’s the story?
Well, it seemed like it was only a matter of time until Nuno left Tottenham, and the inevitable finally happened on Monday.
After an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Manchester United in a game described as El Sackico, the Portuguese coach was axed by Levy.
It comes just four months after Levy and Fabio Paratici hired the 47-year-old to replace José Mourinho.
Tottenham have lost five of their last seven matches, and Levy had seemingly had enough.
In Lineker’s view, Spurs are a complete shambles right now after hiring and firing Nuno so swiftly – you can see his tweet in full below.
In our view, that’s an understatement. The way Tottenham have operated so far in 2021 has been nothing short of amateurish.
Tottenham wasted so much time with Nuno

Just ten games into the Premier League season, and Nuno has gone.
The Manager of the Month for August didn’t even survive for a third of the Premier League campaign, as Levy made a huge error.
After failing to hire Antonio Conte, Erik ten Hag, Paulo Fonseca and others over the summer, it was clear that Nuno wasn’t Levy’s first choice.
It just seemed like Tottenham hired a manager for the sake of it.

After yesterday’s sad outcome, it arguably would’ve been better to leave Mourinho in the dugout until a better option emerged.
Failing that, it may also have been a better move to keep Ryan Mason in the hotseat, until Levy got his hands on someone he actually wanted.
Lineker is right – Tottenham are a shambles right now.
