Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced the departure of Hatem Abd Elhamed earlier today.
The 29-year-old has signed for Hapoel Be’er Sheva on a permanent basis, having struggled with homesickness in Glasgow.
As the BBC state, Neil Lennon said that the full-back had been suffering mentally, and wanted to return to his native Israel.
Additionally, his wife and young son are there, with Lennon revealing he ‘really wanted’ to be reunited with them.
In that respect, there can be no ill-feeling against Elhamed for wanting out.
To be that far away from your family, during a global pandemic no less, must be really tough.

The 10-cap Israel international surely couldn’t think straight.
While he is more than within his rights to leave, his exit leaves Lennon with a bit of a predicament at right-back.
The Hoops have already lost Jeremie Frimpong, so it’s fortunate that the Bhoys managed to sign Jonjoe Kenny on loan from Everton in January.

Had they not, Lennon would be severely lacking depth in that department.
Having said that, things could turn even more sour if the Englishman picks up a long-term injury.
Let’s see what the Celtic fans on Twitter have been saying about Elhamed’s exit…
