West Ham United are linked with the 30-year-old goalkeeper.

England's Joe Hart

Shaka Hislop has told ESPN that he would love to see Joe Hart join West Ham United this summer.

The Sun reported this week that West Ham are interested in signing the 30-year-old goalkeeper, who spent last season on loan at Torino from Manchester City.

The report claims that the Hammers want a loan deal with the option to buy next summer, with the London club prepared to pay his £100,000-a-week salary.

And Hislop, who played as a keeper for the Irons, says that a loan makes “perfect sense” for all the relevant parties.

Asked by ESPN whether he would welcome Hart at West Ham, Hislop said: “Without question.

“I still think Joe Hart, despite criticism, is a wonderful goalkeeper and West Ham would be delighted to have him. They probably can’t afford him in terms of wages, so maybe a loan deal makes perfect sense. This ticks boxes for everybody.”

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic

The Sun claimed that an £18 million transfer fee would be required to sign Hart on a permanent deal next summer if he impresses.

That is quite a steep fee for a 30-year-old keeper, but if he can impress under Slaven Bilic next term then it might be a wise investment. He probably has four or five good years left in him before a natural decline begins.

Adrian won his number one shirt back off Darren Randolph toward the end of last season, but the Spanish goalkeeper had played second fiddle to the Irishman up until that point.

Either way, West Ham need a new stopper and perhaps Hart is the perfect man.
