Tottenham Hotspur spent some £17 million on the Dutchman in the summer, but one man isn’t convinced by him just yet.

Shaka Hislop has told ESPN that he is not convinced by Vincent Janssen for Tottenham Hotspur just yet.
The 22-year-old joined Tottenham in a £17 million deal (according to The Mail) from AZ Alkmaar, but the Netherlands striker is yet to open his account in the Premier League.
In fact, the Dutch striker has netted only once for Spurs since joining, and that was a penalty in the 5-0 League Cup win over Gillingham last month.

With Harry Kane out injured, it seemed like Janssen would have ample opportunity to show what he can do, but Son Heung-min has stolen that chance from him by virtue of his superb form, scoring five goals in his last seven games for the Lilywhites.
As a result, Hislop has no choice but to assert that he is not overly impressed by him as of yet.

Asked by ESPN whether Janssen is hit or miss so far, Hislop said: “He goes in the miss column as well. Janssen came in with a lot of accolades, and he was given an opportunity due to the injury of Harry Kane, but everytime I see him I’ve not been all that convinced. He goes down as a miss…so far.”
Son’s form make it very difficult to write off Janssen. This time last season, it was Son who was struggling for form following a big-money move to North London, but fast forward 12 months and the South Korean is an embodiement of how players can benefit from time.
It remains to be seen whether Janssen is the real deal, but Tottenham fans certainly won’t be writing him off just yet.
