Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United have been linked with Manchester United defender Luke Shaw in the January transfer window.

Shaw has been linked with a move from United to Premier League rivals Newcastle in January.
According to The Express, Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez wants to sign the 22-year-old England international left-back.
The youngster has been on the books of United since the summer of 2014 when he joined from Southampton for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £27 million.

Much was expected of Shaw when he arrived at Old Trafford, but injuries have stunted his growth and development as a footballer at the Red Devils.
When the former Southampton star has been fit, United manager Jose Mourinho has not played him much.
The youngster has been able to play just 83 minutes in the Premier League and 90 minutes in the Champions League for the Red Devils so far this season.

Former Newcastle goalkeeper Hislop has suggested that the Magpies would gladly sign Shaw from United in the January transfer window.
According to The Daily Star, Shaw earns £70,000 per week as salary at United.
“I think Shaw is likely to leave,” Hislop told ESPN FC. “Jose Mourinho, as much as he has started him a bit of late, I don’t think he has ever been a fan.
“Newcastle would have him, gladly, and probably that fresh start is exactly what Luke Shaw needs.”
