Tottenham Hotspur conceded twice at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Shaka Hislop has told ESPN that Tottenham Hotspur are “awful” at the back.

Tottenham remain with one victory from their last 10 games in all competitions after losing 2-1 at Premier League leaders Chelsea on Saturday evening.

Christian Eriksen fired Spurs ahead on the night but goals from Pedro and Victor Moses either side of half time flipped the game on its head for the Blues.

They equalised just before the break when an unmarked Nemanja Matic found Pedro, who bent a fine effort around Hugo Lloris from outside the box.

For the second goal, wing-back Victor Moses had an acre of space as he ran on to a pass across the face of goal from Diego Costa.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been excellent for the most part in the defensive stakes, but they let themselves down – especially on the second goal – and Hislop has put the boot in.

“As good as Spurs are pressing the ball high up the pitch, they are awful at the back,” he told ESPN.

“Look how much room Matic finds for the first goal. Look at the room Pedro finds. I don’t think Moses has ever had that room in his own lounge, let alone on a football pitch.”

Spurs are seven points behind the top-of-the-table Blues, and four behind Arsenal as their Champions League qualification hopes also suffered a blow.

The Lilywhites host Swansea City next weekend, before then facing Manchester United at Old Trafford.
