Shaka Hislop comments on Eric Dier to Manchester United speculation

Manchester United have been linked with Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier in the summer transfer window.

Former Newcastle United and West Ham United goalkeeper Shaka Hislop has told ESPN FC that he cannot see Eric Dier moving from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

Dier, who is a very versatile footballer and can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder, has been linked with a move away from Tottenham to Premier League rivals United.

According to The Telegraph, the Red Devils are interested in signing the England international this summer, but Spurs insist that he is not for sale.

Former Newcastle and West Ham goalkeeper Hislop, who now works as a pundit for ESPN, has given his take on the situation.

“Just knowing Daniel Levy and how he does business, this is going to run,” Hislop told ESPN FC about Dier to United speculation. “This is not going to be a quick fix, this is not going to be something that is going to happen in the next week or two.

“If it happens, this happens August 31 at 11:58. and even still, I don’t see how this makes any business sense for Spurs. Knowing Levy being the hardball negotiator that he is, as of right now, I don’t see it happening.”

Dier is one of the best and most important players in the Tottenham team, and it is indeedd hard to see the North London club selling him to United in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have just sold right-back Kyle Walker to Manchester City, and they will not surely want to strengthen another of their title rivals by selling them another of their best players.
