It’s taken almost 14 months, but Tottenham Hotspur fans have finally seen Jack Clarke play for them.
The 19-year-old winger joined Spurs in a £10 million deal from Leeds in July of 2019.
He spent the first half of last season back on loan at Leeds, before then joining QPR on a temporary basis in January.
But today Clarke pulled on the Tottenham shirt for a game for the first time as Jose Mourinho’s side warmed up for the 2020-21 campaign with a 3-0 demolition of Ipswich Town.
Mourinho introduced Clarke at half-time and kept him on for the second 45 minutes.
And here’s how fans of the North London club are reacting to his performance this afternoon:
It was a decent display from Clarke, but another loan is probably the smart move here.
He simply isn’t good enough yet to compete with a Lucas Moura or Son Heung-min for regular senior football – in fact, he’s a million miles away.
But he’s still so young and a full season on loan with a Championship team that plays him every week, much like what Spurs have done with Troy Parrott by sending him to Millwall, could be the making of him.
