Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching ‘beautiful’ footage of Harvey White and Dane Scarlett linking up against Chelsea’s Under-23s.
Yesterday’s affair – which ended in a 3-2 win for Chelsea – saw Danny Drinkwater and Petr Cech feature for the Blues, the former of whom was sent off.
However, it also saw a wonderful move which ended in Scarlett powering home a header past the experienced Cech.
The footage under the spotlight saw White receive the ball from deep, before whipping a devilish delivery into the Chelsea box.
Scarlett then leaps highest to nod past the Czech glovesman, in what was a fine goal in terms of quality on the ball.
One supporter said the move was reminiscent of Nabil Bentaleb’s whipped ball into Harry Kane for his match-winning header in the north London derby, from back in 2015.
White’s delivery, in our view, also looked similar to the crosses in which Christian Eriksen used to deliver from deep.
The Dane’s inch-perfect pass for Dele Alli in the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea springs to mind, in terms of finding a comparison.
The future certainly looks bright for the two prodigious Spurs talents.
