Liverpool should consider a swoop for the Sevilla star this summer.

Reds boss Jürgen Klopp is expected to be extremely active during this summer’s transfer window, as the German looks to build a squad capable of mounting a genuine Premier League title challenge next season.
One particular area of concern for the former Borussia Dortmund boss will be central midfield, with Lucas Leiva declaring his desire to return to Brazil (Liverpool Echo), and Emre Can yet to agree terms on a new deal at Anfield.
With this in mind, Liverpool should seriously consider a move for Sevilla’s powerhouse midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, who has been linked with a summer switch to Juventus, according to Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

Whilst it will be difficult for the Merseyside outfit to convince the Frenchman to join them over the Italian champions, Liverpool still have a huge pull in the game, and the opportunity to work under a manager of Klopp’s calibre will surely stand them in good stead, if they decide on making a move for the former Stoke City man.
The 28-year-old has been a revelation for the La Liga side, since making the move to Spain in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be in the region of £7 million, and the attributes that he possesses makes him the ideal signing for Liverpool this summer.
He is powerful, accomplished with the ball at his feet, has a superb engine, and is highly experienced in playing at the highest level – all qualities that will need replacing if and when Lucas Leiva leaves the club.

N’Zonzi would also add a more robust, physical side to the Reds’ midfield, with his box-to-box nature something that Klopp’s men are currently bereft of.
He is still under contract with Sevilla until the summer of 2020, however, so it will take a fairly substantial offer from Liverpool, if they are to prise him away form the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.
The Reds are hardly short of funds though, and any money spent on the Frenchman would be a sound investment, irrelevant of how much they would have to pay.
