West Ham United missed out on Joan Jordan this summer,

Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan has told Estadio Deportivo that he had the chance to join a Premier League club this summer, allegedly West Ham United.

Jordan, 25, starred with Eibar last season, notching four goals and four assists for the La Liga side in a more than decent campaign.

The Spaniard not only showed great playmaking ability, but also the ability to score from long range and take great set pieces, becoming one of the most underrated midfielders in Europe.

For some time, it seemed like Jordan – formerly of Espanyol – would be heading to the Premier League amid strong links to West Ham.

Sky Sports claimed that the Hammers were making a £13million move for Jordan, but they ended up being beaten to his signature by Sevilla.

Jordan has played three La Liga games for Sevilla this season, and he has now opened up on the transfer window just gone.

Jordan admitted that he had the chance to make a lot more money with West Ham, but when Monchi called him about a move to Sevilla, he knew he wanted to join them and leave the Hammers to go back to the drawing board.

“When he called me to Sevilla, I knew that I wanted to come,” said Jordan. “I had almost done it with a team from the Premier League (West Ham) that made a lot more money, but my family, my wife and my parents were betting on this, especially my father,” he added.
