Nottingham Forest have fended off interest in Dexter Blackstock from a number of Championship clubs.
A number of Championship teams have found their efforts to sign Nottingham Forest striker Dexter Blackstock on loan prove fruitless.
According to a report in the Nottingham Post, the front-man has attracted the interest of a host of teams in the second-tier, but Forest have decided against letting him leave on a temporary move.
Blackstock was reportedly available on loan before today’s deadline, but it seems that Stuart Pearce has had a change of heart and now intends to keep the former Queens Park Rangers front-man at the club.
Sheffield United, from League One, tried to is sign the 28-year-old, but he turned down the chance to join them.
It seems that they were not the only interested party in Blackstock, either, but Pearce feels that he could still have a part to play at the City Ground.
The target-man has played just twice for the Reds this season, but he did come off the bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their last fixture.
It may that Blackstock has to make do with substitute appearances if he does want to break back into the first-team, too.
The form of Matty Fryatt and Britt Assombalonga up-front means that he is unlikely to dislodge either of the pair in the near future, but he will be hoping to impress, even in a rotational role.
Forest’s rejection of any move for Blackstock means that it is set to be a quiet loan deadline day.
Danny Collins is the only player that the Reds are prepared to listen to offers for, but there has been little interest so far, and Pearce confirmed that no more incoming transfers would be made.
