Ryan Sessegnon’s transfer to Tottenham Hotspur hasn’t really worked out.
The 21-year-old joined Spurs in the summer of 2019 as one of Europe’s most exciting young players, signing on for £20 million.
However, the former Fulham sensation hasn’t been able to adjust to life in North London yet.
We know this because since joining Tottenham almost three years ago, Sessegnon has started only 11 Premier League games.
Even under Antonio Conte, there’s a big question mark over the player and if one rumour from Turkey is accurate, well he might be finished at the Lilywhites.
According to TRT Spor, Tottenham are interested in signing Besiktas left-back Ridvan Yilmaz.
The 20-year-old can also play on the left-hand side of attack and the truth is that Conte wouldn’t be interested in Yilmaz if he was happy with his current options down that flank.
He has Sessegnon, Sergio Reguilon and even Matt Doherty, who’s been ruled out until next season.
Sessegnon seems most at threat by the arrival of another player of his ilk and therefore he’s the one most likely to realise he has no future in North London if Yilmaz comes in.
It would be a sad development because, as mentioned, Sessegnon was considered the next big thing for so long, and Tottenham spent years trying to sign him.
In fact, he even had a £100 million price-tag as recently as 2018 [The Sun], highlighting what a prospect he was.
But it hasn’t worked out and if Yilmaz comes in, it might never happen for him at Tottenham.
