The World Cup winner is reportedly imminent at Craven Cottage and Fulham could be in possession of two excellent wingers for a target man.

As reported by the Evening Standard, Andre Schurrle is set to become a Fulham player, as he nears the completion of his proposed loan move from Borussia Dortmund.

Schurrle was in London on Wednesday to undergo a medical, and confirmation of the deal is expected very soon from the London club.

Schurrle is a Premier League and World Cup winner with Chelsea and Germany respectively, and will arrive with a big reputation at Craven Cottage, even though things have not quite been so fruitful for him in the Bundesliga, having made less than 20 league appearances in each of the last two seasons.

But for Fulham, Schurrle is still a fine coup, especially with no transfer fee involved, and he and Ryan Sessegnon could be two of the league’s most underrated wingers. They would certainly be a dream pair to work with for a target man striker.

Both have excellent delivery, meaning the appeal could be greater now for an aerial presence joining the club. Aleksandar Mitrovic has not hid the fact that he wants to join Fulham permanently, but Newcastle want £18 million according to Sky Sports.

Fulham are also eyeing a move for Willian Jose of Real Sociedad – another aerial threat that would benefit majorly from having players like Sessgnon and Schurrle around him.

The 26-year-old has scored 34 times over the past two seasons for Sociedad, and the Sun claims Fulham have lodged a bid of £26 million.

Either striker would, in theory, fit right in at Fulham and their playing style, and could well score goals for fun with Sessegnon and Schurrle supplying the ammunition from the wide areas.

Needless to say with that in mind, once Schurrle is secured, the Cottagers need to get a deal for one over the line and quickly.
