Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after BILD revealed that Borussia Monchengladbach forward Hannes Wolf is a target for Ange Postecoglou.
What’s the story?
Well, this is very exciting news for Celtic.
BILD believe Wolf could leave the Bundesliga club on loan, just months after they signed him from RB Leipzig for €9.5m (£8m).
The 22-year-old – who has been compared to Antoine Griezmann – has made seven Bundesliga appearances this season.
However, Wolf has been left on the bench quite a lot in recent weeks, after falling out of favour under Adi Hütter.
The Austrian is yet to score or assist a goal this season.
Nevertheless, Wolf is an exciting player, who looked set for big things at RB Leipzig before suffering a broken leg while playing for Austria at the Under-21 European Championship.
Hannes Wolf would be ideal for Celtic
Celtic have done some excellent recruitment work this year.
The signings of Kyogo Furuhashi and Jota were masterstrokes by the Bhoys, and in Wolf, the Hoops have another gem in their sights.
In our view, Wolf would be perfect for Celtic, as he is a versatile attacker who should operate well with Kyogo and Jota in what would be a fluid attack.
Interestingly, Football Talent Scout believe he works best in a second-striker role alongside a more physical frontman.
In that respect, Postecoglou could even use him in a 4-4-2 next to Giorgos Giakoumakis.
