Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been full of praise for Steven Bergwijn after his cameo in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Spurs fans didn’t have much to shout about as they were held to a 3-3 draw by LASK, but Bergwijn’s performance was a rare bright spark on what was a rather drab evening of European football.

The Dutch winger came off the bench with 25 minutes to go, and it didn’t take long for his impact to be felt as he won the penalty which Dele Alli converted to put Spurs 3-2 up.

Unfortunately, the north London outfit were unable to hold onto that lead, but that didn’t take away from fans’ view that Bergwijn put in a good shift.

Some fans were impressed with the positive impact he had off of the bench, while others said that he should be starting against Arsenal this weekend.

Jose Mourinho certainly has a decision to make with his wingers against Arsenal with the likes of Lucas, Gareth Bale and Bergwijn all fighting to start alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son in the front three.

However, it’s clear that one section of the fanbase really rate Bergwijn.
