Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are accusing their players of a lack of respect toward Antonio Conte.

Spurs made a huge appointment last week by hiring the Italian manager, who has won four Serie A titles and a Premier League.

On Sunday, Tottenham released footage of the moment that Conte met his new players for the first time.

And in the video, the only Lilywhites star to stand up when greeting the new manager was Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Here’s how some fans of the North London club are reacting to the footage on Twitter:

Fair criticism?

Well, no.

There’s a thousand and one reasons to slam Tottenham players this season, but this isn’t a valid example.

Firstly, the footage only showed the moment that a handful of the first-team squad met the new coach.

It’s undeniable that some players were sat down when the Italian did the quick meet-and-greet but, by the same token, they could have met him earlier and off-camera.

Conte commands respect based on his name alone and it just isn’t plausible that any of the Spurs lads would disrespect him like this, let alone several.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss will hope for his first domestic win in North London when Leeds visit next Sunday.
