Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are now reportedly getting serious about Khephren Thuram, a player Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool also want to sign in the summer transfer window.
Rudy Galetti has reported on Twitter that Newcastle United are now moving for Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram, but Liverpool are pushing hard for the 22-year-old France international.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Newcastle are really serious about signing the youngster, described as “fantastic” by the French club’s former caretaker-manager Didier Digard on RMC Sport.
Could Liverpool or Newcastle United sign Khephren Thuram?
In our opinion, Liverpool or Newcastle United could be able to sign Khephren Thuram from Nice in the summer transfer window.
There is already speculation that Nice will sell the youngster for £60 million.

So, clearly, if Liverpool or Newcastle make an offer to Nice, then the French club will at least listen to it.
Now, we do not think that Newcastle or Liverpool will pay £60 million for Thuram, but maybe a deal could be struck for around £40 million.
The 22-year-old made 30 starts and five substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Nice last season.
Thuram scored two goals and gave four assists in those games.
