Davide Frattesi admits that he is keen on a future in the Premier League but the Serie A star will not be joining West Ham United in the summer of 2022, speaking to Tuttosport.
At the age of just 22, it’s not as if Frattesi doesn’t have plenty of time on his side.
West Ham can wait. For now, one of this season’s breakthrough stars is focused on honing his talents at Sassuolo after establishing himself as one of the most talented young midfielders in Italian football.
“I’d like that,” Frattesi said when asked about a future in the Premier League. “It’s a league I can see myself in. But it’s a step to take in two or three years, after I’ve established myself.
“But it’s a league that fascinates me a lot, also because it doesn’t have too many tactics. You go back and forth for ninety minutes and I like that idea.
“It would be nice to get to know a new culture.”
Which club will Davide Frattesi join?
According to FC Inter News, Juventus, Inter, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and David Moyes’ Europa League semi-finalists have all expressed their interest in the Italy U21 international.
Scudetto holders Inter are the most likely destination at this stage, however.
Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has already admitted that Simone Inzaghi’s in-form Nerazzuri outfit have expressed their interest in a man who has four goals and three assists in his first season of regular top-flight football.

Frattesi’s links with West Ham, meanwhile, will increase the uncertainty surrounding Manuel Lanzini’s future at the London Stadium. Despite an impressive return to form in 2021/22, the Argentine remains out of contract in just over 12 months’ time and recently held talks regarding a return to former club River Plate.
Mark Noble is also set to retire, while Alex Kral will be on his way back to Russia after a forgettable loan spell in England.
