Sampdoria’s rampant forward Patrik Schick is reportedly on the radar of both Everton and Tottenham Hotspur as they aim to add depth up top.

One season in Serie A has proven to be more than enough for Patrik Schick to put himself on the shopping lists of almost half the clubs in the Premier League.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, as well as Arsenal, West Brom and Crystal Palace, are all chasing the Sampdoria striker who, just last season, finished ninth in the Czech top flight.

And it’s clear to see why Tottenham and Everton in particular are interested. Spurs may not have lost a Premier League game that talismanic top scorer Harry Kane has missed with injury this season but, with Vincent Janssen’s FA Cup strike against Millwall looking like another false dawn, they are crying out for depth up top.

Everton, too, will need to invest heavily in forwards if Romelu Lukaku gets his wish and earns a move to one of the European elite.

Yet, according to Samp’s madcap president Massimo Ferrero, signing the 21-year-old Schick will be easier said than done.

“He’s not for sale,” Ferrero said in quotes reported by Football Italia before admitting that the forward has an £21 million release clause.

Although Schick’s stand-out performances this season have warranted attention, netting eight goals in six starts and thriving as an impact sub, it would be a major surprise if Tottenham or Everton were to trigger such a hefty release clause at this stage.

Therefore, with the scarf-donning Ferrero playing hard-ball, it seems that Schick may be remaining in Italy beyond the summer.
