Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has told Cadena SER that he thinks Gareth Bale is ‘different’ now he is back at the club.

Spurs raided Real Madrid for two signings in September, as they brought Bale back on loan and signed Reguilon permanently.

Spurs needed more attacking thrust at left back, and Reguilon certainly provides that having starred on loan at Sevilla last season.

His arrival was somewhat overshadowed by Bale’s return though, as the Welshman re-joined Spurs seven years after leaving in a then-world-record deal.

Bale isn’t the same player he was when he left, but he showed he can still make an impact by scoring the winner against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.

Now, Reguilon has spoken about Bale back in Spain, suggesting that he has seen that his former Real teammate is ‘different’ at Tottenham and ‘very happy’.

Bale had a tumultuous relationship with the Spanish press and Real fans, and Reguilon believes that language is key for him and he is ‘much more comfortable’ back in England – comments which should please Tottenham fans.

“Bale is very happy, I notice he is different,” said Reguilon. “Language is everything to him. It is true that he speaks Spanish well, but here he is much more comfortable in England,” he added.
