Sergio Reguilon has sent an emotional goodbye message to Manchester United as he returns to parent club Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham decided to send Sergio Reguilon out on loan on transfer deadline day.
The 27-year-old spent last season on loan with Atletico Madrid, but made just 11 La Liga appearances before heading back to Spurs.
Tottenham made Reguilon available for loan again and a surprise move materialised as he joined Manchester United.
Injuries to both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia meant that United needed another option at left back and pounced for Reguilon.

Reguilon has only started four Premier League games for United as well as two in the Champions League.
United had a break clause as part of the deal, allowing them to send Reguilon back in January if they so wished.
Despite Shaw suffering another injury and Malacia still being out, United have decided to end Reguilon’s time at the club.
Reguilon will now head back to Tottenham and he has said an emotional goodbye to the Red Devils.
The Spaniard has taken to social media to state that playing for United has been a truly ‘great experience’, thanking the club, the supporters and his teammates.
Reguilon noted that it has been a ‘privilege’ to play for United and wished United the best going forward as he returns to North London.
Will Ange Postecoglou consider giving Reguilon another chance at Tottenham?
Reguilon’s future is now unclear and he returns to Tottenham with another departure being the most likely outcome.
Whether it’s a loan or a permanent exit, we can imagine that Spurs will be open to letting Reguilon go.
There may be a chance for Reguilon to impress boss Ange Postecoglou and fight for Tottenham future though.
Destiny Udogie has impressed this season but does pick up cards whilst Ben Davies has been used as a centre back of late.
Add in Ryan Sessegnon’s continued injury problems and Tottenham may just need Reguilon as defensive cover.
Postecoglou may will explore that idea with Reguilon returning to the club over three years since his £27million move from Real Madrid.
