What an excellent debut Sergio Reguilon enjoyed for Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.
Spurs moved into the fourth round of the League Cup by beating Chelsea on penalties in North London last night.
It was the Spaniard’s first game for Tottenham since joining in a £27 million move from Real Madrid earlier this month, with Gareth Bale.
The Lilywhites fans saw his speed, attacking flair – by setting up Erik Lamela’s equaliser – and defensive quality, but they also saw his mental strength.
It was a mistake from Reguilon which led to Chelsea ultimately taking the lead through Timo Werner, but he was exceptional for the rest of the match and it really speaks volumes for his character that he was able to put that error behind him so emphatically.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho appears to be a big fan of Ben Davies.
But going by that performance, the left-back spot is Reguilon’s until he does something to make the Portuguese coach want to rotate again.
The draw for the next round of the competition comes on Thursday.
