Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon has raved about reported Manchester City target Sergio Ramos on Instagram.

Ramos is leaving Real Madrid, and that has led to Tottenham star Reguilon posting an emotional message on social media.

The 24-year-old left-back played with Ramos at Madrid as well as for the Spain national football team.

ESPN reported last month that Premier League champions Manchester City are interested in signing the 35-year-old Spaniard on a free transfer.

What’s been said?

Reguilon wrote on Instagram, as translated from Spanish: “The children of La Fábrica have grown up watching you play and dreaming of being able to share a dressing room with you one day.

“I was lucky to achieve it and I could see that, in addition to being a spectacular footballer, Sergio Ramos is a great person, a great leader, and an example as an athlete.

“Thank you very much for everything you have done for Real Madrid, LEGEND BLANCA.”

Would Sergio Ramos make Manchester City better?

Ramos had injury problems last season and did not have a massive impact at Madrid.

The defender scored two goals in 15 La Liga games.

The 35-year-old also scored two goals and gave one assist in five Champions League appearances.

Ramos is one of the best defenders to ever play the game.

Yes, the Spaniard is now 35 and is clearly past his best, but in big moments and in big games, he can still make a massive difference.

Moreover, Ramos is a leader, both on the pitch and off it, and his influence in the dressing room would be huge for City.

True, City have some wonderful defenders, such as Ruben Dias and John Stones, but a player like Ramos would only make Pep Guardiola’s side better and stronger at the back.
