With Sergio Reguilon looking likely to return to Tottenham Hotspur after a disappointing loan spell at Atletico Madrid, he could have a chance to redeem himself if Julian Nagelsmann comes through the door.
The £28 million (talkSPORT) man’s stock is perhaps at an all-time low currently, and one can expect the average fan to perhaps even have forgotten that he is still a Spurs player.
But if Julian Nagelsmann is appointed as Tottenham Hotspur manager, things could change for Sergio Reguilon and fast.
Reguilon could explode into life again at Tottenham under Nagelsmann
It is clear that the ex-Real Madrid left-back was clearly unfancied by Antonio Conte, as he was shipped out on loan the summer after featuring in six league games at the backend of the previous season.
Considering Ivan Perisic has flattered to deceive at Tottenham so far while Ryan Sessegnon perhaps seems more suited to just playing as an out-and-out winger, Sergio Reguilon could be an asset for Julian Nagelsmann.
After all, Nagelsmann also favours a back three and unless Tottenham bring in a brand-new left-wing back, Reguilon remains his best bet.

While the Spaniard may not always be the most defensively sound, it must be said that he is a weapon going forward. Especially during the early months of Jose Mourinho’s spell, the 26-year-old was making headlines for all the right reasons.
Considering Nagelsmann was a huge admirer of Angelino as his go-to left wing-back at RB Leipzig, he may have found his answer to a key tool of his at Tottenham with Reguilon.
And in all fairness, not only does Sergio Reguilon have more pedigree but is superior to his fellow countryman defensively and is a much better ball-carrier as well.
For Son’s sake as well, who is likely to keep his place on the left wing next season, he shared a fruitful dynamic down the flank with the Spurs loanee and he could be allowed to take in more central goalscoring positions due to the width the latter provides.
Often, the best managers’ stories align with those of players that the masses stopped believing in and the same could be the case with Nagelsmann and Reguilon, if they manage to work in tandem at Tottenham.
