Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has told Onda Cero that Jose Mourinho has ‘surprised’ him since his move.

Spurs were in the market for a new left back over the summer, seeking a more attack-minded option than Ben Davies in that role.

They ended up signing Reguilon, finalising a £27million deal to bring him in from Real Madrid – though the Spanish giants have a buy-back clause.

Reguilon has impressed in the early stages of his Spurs career, already notching two assists in just four Premier League games for Tottenham.

Many will fear that the 23-year-old will end up back at Real, but Spurs fans are enjoying his performances right now – and it seems that he is enjoying life at Spurs too.

Reguilon claims that boss Mourinho has surprised him so far, but all for good reasons as he has many positive qualities both as a person and as a coach.

“He is a great person and wins a lot in a short space of time,” said Reguilon. “He has surprised me for good, he has many good things.”

Reguilon also slammed a ‘totally false’ rumour that he fell out with Zinedine Zidane’s son Luca at Real Madrid and that’s why he was sold to Spurs, claiming that they are still in close contact and have a great relationship.

“I still have a lot of contact with him and I usually go to dinner with him, so everything that is said about us is totally false,” he added.
