Real Madrid are planning to hold talks with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy over Sergio Reguilon, according to Defensa Central.
What’s the story?
Defensa Central are reporting that Madrid want to reduce the buyback clause in Reguilon’s contract.
As things stand, if Madrid want to re-sign the 24-year-old left-back from Tottenham, then they have to pay €40 million (£33.93m).
That, according to the report, is too much for the Spanish and European giants.
Madrid do not think that Reguilon has progressed enough at Spurs to merit a buy-back fee of €40 million (£33.93m), especially when they sold him to the Premier League club for €30 million (£25.45m).
So, Los Blancos plan to hold talks with Spurs chairman Levy and try to reduce the buy-back clause to between €30 million (£25.45m) and €33 million (£28m).

Unlikely to happen
It simply does not make sense for Tottenham to accept this proposal from Madrid.
Why would Levy agree to this?
It makes no business sense whatsoever.
Levy is a very smart and shrewd businessman, and we find it hard to imagine him agreeing to reducing Reguilon’s buyback clause.
Reguilon, 24, has made 34 appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham since his move from Madrid in the summer of 2020.
