Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has told Football.London that the plays have even more desire to win a trophy than the fans do.
Spurs lost 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as they fell to Leicester City, and now need to hit back in the Carabao Cup.
Tottenham travel to take on Stoke City in the quarter-finals of the competition this evening, meaning they can join Brentford and Manchester City in the semi-finals.
Spurs haven’t won a trophy since February 2008, and Jose Mourinho will be desperate to avoid defeat against a Championship side today.
Mourinho may make changes to his side today, and Reguilon’s place may be in some doubt with Ben Davies available to come in.
Reguilon has though spoken to the press ahead of the game, and has admitted that he has been reading comments from fans on social media about winning a trophy.

The Spaniard has quickly realised how desperate supporters are for silverware, but claims the players are even more passionate about winning a trophy – which has to be proven against Stoke tonight.
“I am very much aware of it,” said Reguilon. “You are aware of stuff on social media and how the fans are really keen to win a trophy. But believe you and me, if the fans are keen to win a trophy, we have even more desire as players and as a squad,” he added.
