Former Red Bull driver Sergio Perez has won six Grands Prix during his lengthy career.

Perez holds the record for the most race starts before taking a victory (189). He finally stood on the top step for Racing Point at the 2020 Sakhir GP.

That win helped earn him a Red Bull seat for the following season when he would otherwise have dropped off the grid.

Max Verstappen hoovered up most of the victories in a dominant Red Bull car, but Perez was still able to triumph in Azerbaijan (twice), Monaco, Singapore and Saudi Arabia during his four years with the team.

Sergio Perez says F1 trophies cost up to £60k

Perez, who’s returning to F1 with Cadillac this year after being dropped by Red Bull at the end of 2024, has finished on the podium 39 times overall.

He ranks just outside the all-time top 25 in that leaderboard and will hope to increase his tally before he retires.

However, speaking to Desde el Paddock last year, Perez revealed that he hasn’t been able to keep any of his trophies.

The trophies, valued as high as $80k (just under £60k), go to the teams, who produce an ‘exact’ replica for the drivers.

“Very expensive,” he said, sitting next to his Singapore 2022 winners’ trophy. “Between $50k and $80k. They are extremely expensive. [The replicas] are exactly the same thing. The teams keep the original.”

Which F1 driver has collected the most trophies during their career?

Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, holds the all-time record for podium finishes with 202.

That puts him comfortably ahead of Michael Schumacher on 155, though Max Verstappen (127) could well set a new benchmark before he quits the sport.

Verstappen overtook Sebastian Vettel (122) last year. Alain Prost and Fernando Alonso, who remains active with Aston Martin, are currently tied for fifth on 106.

Using Perez’s figure, Hamilton’s trophy collection could be worth as much as £12.1m, though this is of course a loose estimate.
