Sergio Garcia predicts the percentage chance that LIV Golf will still be around in 2027

Sergio Garcia joined LIV Golf from the PGA Tour back in June 2022.

Garcia was one of the biggest names to make the jump at the time, and he has been one of LIV Golf’s biggest supporters over the last four years.

The 46-year-old from Spain has been a hugely controversial figure in the game of golf over the past two decades or so.

Sergio Garcia has endured well-documented spats with Tiger Woods over the years, and his on-course behavior at times has been questionable to say the least.

Garcia’s appalling actions at the Masters this year during the final round left an unsavory taste in the mouth.

And since his move to LIV Golf, he has taken every opportunity to speak disparagingly about the PGA Tour.

However, Garcia is the one who has come off looking rather silly, with LIV Golf facing a really uncertain future in the game.

Some golf analysts have predicted that LIV Golf will fold at the end of the current season.

Many LIV golfers are uncertain about the league’s future, after it was announced in April that Saudi Arabia’s PIF would be pulling their funding from the project at the end of the 2026 season.

Now Sergio Garcia has had his say on the matter.

When speaking to Bunkered, the 2017 Masters champion responded when asked whether he believes LIV Golf will still be operating next season.

“It looks good,” Garcia said.

“Obviously, I think they’ve had a lot of meetings with different possible investors. I’m 99 percent sure that LIV is going to continue.

“It’s just going to look different than it has the last four years. But I’m very, very confident that it’s going to keep going. We’ll see how it develops.”

Sergio Garcia plans to regain his DP World Tour card

Bunkered claim that Garcia is pursuing a DP World Tour card in 2027.

In order to fulfil the requirements to make him eligible for that, the Spaniard is set to play four more DP World Tour events this season.

“Yes, I’m going to play a little bit. I’m going to play probably four more, counting [BMW International Open],” he admitted.

“It’s obviously something that I’ve always said that I wanted to do and I’m trying to do the best I can there.

“Obviously, at 46, I can’t play 30 events a year, but I’m going to make an effort to see if I can at least play a handful and try to do my best there.”
