It is now over a week since Liverpool pulled off one of the results of the year.

Sergio Busquets of FC Barcelona looks dejected after the UEFA Champions League Semi Final second leg match between Liverpool and Barcelona at Anfield on May 7, 2019 in Liverpool, England.

Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Barcelona defied expectations last week and will be remembered for years to come.

It won’t be a game Barcelona forget easily either.

Even with the La Liga title wrapped up, the Liverpool defeat is hurting the Barcelona players, Sergio Busquets admits the Anfield hammering is proving hard to get over.

He told RMC Sport referencing the weekend win over Getafe: “We knew we had to play, but it was really difficult for everyone, we wanted to be 100% but it was a struggle after what happened in Liverpool.

“Liverpool’s injury is deep, we have to go on and hope that those who are injured recover quickly.”

Barcelona were 3-0 up from the first leg, before their spectacular collapse at Anfield.

Liverpool’s brilliance left them shell shocked, and it seems they have still not put it behind them.

Barcelona can still wrap up a domestic double with a Copa del Rey final against Valencia.

But even a win won’t wash away the memories of another painful European exit.
