And if the Portuguese right-back does arrive, the Mirror suggest that Aurier’s place in Spurs’ squad will come under threat.
Aurier only arrived at Tottenham last summer, in a £23 million deal from PSG.
However, the Ivorian full-back has struggled in his first season in English football.
Aurier has proven to be very erratic, and there are now already doubts over his future at Spurs.
If Cedric was to arrive, Aurier would immediately become Spurs’ third choice right back – with Kieran Trippier already at the club.
And if Aurier does become back-up, Spurs are unlikely to want to keep a player of his value around simply to play reserve team football.
